The Bench....

Growing up we always had a bench at our dining room table.
An old wooden one, that was painted a few different colors throughout
the years. We (my siblings and I) hated this bench. We would fight over
who got to sit in the chairs that lined the other side of the table.
The only reason I had thought about this, this morning is because I
actually want to have a table with a bench now. Every blog I read or
magaizine I open - there's a beautiful table with a beautiful bench to match.

A few of my favorite examples:

Maybe one day our kids will be fighting over who gets to sit in the
chairs too. :)

I love day dreaming of how our house will look one day. We already
look forward to the day when we can redo light fixtures, don't have
to worry about playing music too loud, or having a big back yard for
Med to run around in.

Dinner Tray....

So it's been pretty dull around here lately. We're getting ready for Finals and waiting for summer to get here already. We've been trying to house train Puppy but he's still having a hard time with it. He's getting better though!

A few new things:

I FINALLY got my hair cut. It was long, VERY long overdue.

We did have a fun find the other day at TJMaxx. Good ol' TJ - gotta love that place. It's a tray, wood : ) of course, but it seems kinda bambooish. I loved the colors.

(Sorry for the craptastic pictures, been raining all day AND I don't know how to use a camera)

Tray - $30.00
Chinese food we ate on it the first night - $15.00
Being able to convince your husband to buy anything that has to do with wood, bamboo, or recycling - $priceless. : )

Here's Medved - Soaking up the little sun we have today. Isn't he a cutie?!

Well I found an amazing discount designer fabric shop down the street from me in Latham. They are closed due to it being Easter weekend, but I'm def gonna stop by next week and check them out. MAYBE (fingers crossed) I'll find the right fabric to make my eversoneeded (I made that word up) curtains for my living room : )

Wish me luck!

Have a great Easter weekend!!

Bear....

So we've been busy lately. Hence the no posts.

Here's our newest edition:

Our new Puppy :)

His first Hockey Puck.

Setting up his crate.

His curling cork screw tail.

Soaking up some sun.

His name is Medvedov. Which means of the Bears in Russian. We call him Medved (just bear in Russian) or Med. Or sometimes Medster. It'll probably take him a long time to learn his name.

He's fluffy, cuddly, and perfect.

My love for yellow...

So as I stated a few posts back, we've been working on our living room lately. I have yet to find the right curtains and I'm still in search of the perfect lighting source so I won't be showing the whole room today BUT I wanted to show off our TV Stand and our new shelves.

While splurging one day - we bought a new TV. We love it. But we only had this to put it on:

So OBVIOUSLY that needed to be fixed. We had a budget with the new TV stand (because we didn't stay in our budget for the TV ;) so we looked at a ton of places. We wanted something different, a bit antique looking, and wood (what else). We found this:

TJmaxx oh how I love you! It was kinda in rough shape and was a bit smaller than we were looking for but it fit our TV and it was on sale - SOLD! I had a few ideas anyways. So we went to work and it now looks like this:

We love it, it's a big bright punch in the room. :)

Seeing that we didn't want to throw out our old "TV stand" we started thinking about what to do with it. Ross' parents gave us this when we moved in and they'd had it since Ross was little. Plusss the wood was beautiful, so we wanted to do something with it.

Cue - shelves:

Ross just sawed the table right in half and we bought brackets and stained them to match.

Aahhh the power of reusing. :)

It's such a beautiful day here in the Capital Region, I'm gonna go take a stroll :)
